Desearchers at the Roslin Institute of Edinburgh University have shown that a strain of bacteria is passed from human to chicken. It is considered the first clear evidence of the passage of bacterial pathogens from humans to animals since they were domesticated about 10,000 years ago. Dr Ross Fitzgerald, of the Roslin Institute, said: “There are half a century chickens were raised for their eggs, meat was considered a by-product. But the growing demand for meat has led to an industry Poultry dominated by a few multinational companies that provide a limited number of lines in the global market, which promotes the spread of the bacterium in the world. ”

Further studies will be undertaken in search of human bacteria on different domestic species.
